With success comes ambition, and on the heels of two successful 12-inch releases that followed the changing seasons of 2013, Studio r° returns for fall 2014 with our most expansive offering yet. Coming in the form of a 12 track triple EP, our third release revisits one illustrious name – Fred P – while deepening the roster with a list of the renown like Brendon Moeller, Exercise One and Mike Parker, hot upcoming names like Zadig, DJ Spider, and Hakim Murphy, and lesser knowns, some new but others with long histories. Those with their ears to the ground will certainly perk up for contributions from André Kronert and Boyd Schidt, each of which can trace their production histories back over a decade, the former as head of Night Drive Music and the latter as half of the Georgian duo Greenbeam & Leon. The remaining three – Harry Light, Jūras Lietus, and Weitone – are all newer, with the first making his debut here, the second having debuted on our own Wavereform imprint, and the third ostensibly new, although he may have some history we will not reveal here.

A lush 90s vibe haunts this first offering by new Parisian talent Voiron, but not one of simple nostalgia – one of real class. The glittering layers, futuristic architecture and spaceship motions of opener “Radime” bear the true density of some early Warp and Reflex classic productions. One doesn’t need to go any further to feel that the sleek skyline and mental landscapes Voiron draws here might be the natural extension of those started by Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works or even 808 State’s Hacienda dance cuts.
“Channel 5″‘s wise chords and vintage drum pads only confirm that lineage, and so does “Zenzone”‘s acid-tinged electro. It takes a reshaping of the EP’s main theme by American producer Fred P to digress towards soulful deep house territory. All that makes Radime a new strong number in the Concrete Music catalogue, and a charismatic statement for young producer Voiron, who’s already supported by modern house heavyweight Photonz and several big names on the Paris club scene.

DADAME (aKa Dario Damerini) arrives in an unique state of maturity behind the decks, he is able to express it from the studio on this EP. It is no secret that Dario is the ambassador of the grooviest old school House sound in Barcelona, his work reveals the way he is and his own experience with the machines. After releasing some dope tracks on other labels, this is his first vinyl in solo.
Smooth and hypnotic, “Escape” is the thread of this EP, an ode to the dance floor. The arpeggio from his Juno is Dario’s way off to another level.
“People Boogie” is Dario in his purest state. Samples from Soul, Disco, some gut cutting pads and a percussion beat; this is his recipe. The mood is set for the warm-up.
Never quitting the deepness from the other tracks, “piano 99” is 90’s American House influenced bomb. Piano, Chords and Bass melt themselves perfectly with a badass 909 instrumental. This is Dadame.
On the other side, Fred P‘s famous “Reshape” it is a modern track. The fusion between his past with Black Jazz Consortium flavored mood and influences for his new incursions in Techno. Dub riddims “Rhythm & Sound” style on a mental beat with pads from the unique deepness that only Fred P could deliver. The perfect balance between House and Techno that we appreciate so much at Monkey Bar.

2013 Repress with New Mastering !! Supported by: Raresh, Laurent Garnier, Kiki, Dj Sneak, Karotte, Lee Curtiss, Alex Kid, Jimpster, Brothers Vibe, etc.. I guess we dont have many words to describe this new Esperanza in which we are proud to present On This Vibe from the one and only Fred P (Black Jazz Consortium) and a delightful remix by Sistrums favourite Patrice Scott. The original track is an amazing late night Detroit ride which evolves slowly until it makes you feel floating on clouds. It may last 10 minutes but it s absolutely the kind of track you would want to be endless. On the flipside, Patrice makes some twists and turns to the original track to put his own trademark signatures delivering another breath-taking emotional space walk. We are proud to release this record and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
