The Point G series from DJ Gregory continues apace with a fifth installment, sporting a double dose of house goodness from the French DJ legend. There’s a notable crunch and punch to the swinging analogue percussion here, which sits somewhere between broken beat, 808 electro and his once renowned Africanism-era Afro-house productions. “Delta” peppers its staccato rhythm with exotic vocal samples and occasional chords, but wisely lets the groove do the talking. There’s a slightly sweatier, bassier feel to “Bona”, even though it revolves around the same sparse but hard-hitting elements.

Airdrop (belatedly) celebrates its fifth anniversary with a bang!
Cinq – meaning ‘five’ in the native tongue of its French founders – features artists from every chapter of the Airdrop story to date alongside some new additions and special guests.
Airdrop’s first record was released in March 2008. The Giraffe EP (AD001) launched Soul Clap into the uppermost strata of house music as well as initiating a longstanding relationship between the label and the producers of Argentina through the input of Franco Cinelli.
Twenty-five records later, following countless label showcases around the world and the establishment of various sub-labels – Aux-Rec for all things re-issued and bootlegged, Greener curated by Andres Zacco and Groovear dedicated to the work of Leonel Castillo – it’s high time to take stock of the journey so far and plan for the future to come.
Cinq sits comfortably between these two outlooks. The exclusive and previously unreleased music cut on the two vinyls map out Airdrop’s future while Paulo’s mixed selection on the included CD offers a comprehensive recap of the label group’s catalogue highlights.
Two vinyls, a mixed CD, a special sticker packed in a beautiful hand-stamped sleeve, equals Cinq.

G Funk aka Cosmin Grigoriu, discovered his passion for music from an early age when he was guided by his parents to take piano and clarinet lessons in the School of Arts in Roman. At the age 14 , starts going to the local clubs. Seeing the resident DJs play music ,he quickly falls in love with this hobby getting to play frequently in some clubs where he goes regularly. At 15 he is invited to be resident at a new club opened in the city. This was the first step towards his rise. In the winter of 2010, he begins working on his own musical projects, signing an EP on the very first day of 2011 with 26 TeaDrops International in Russia. Seeing that his work is appreciated he tries harder and harder and manages to get different EPs on various labels under the name G Funk and KosmynG. In 2012 he start to produce under diferiT. The year of 2012 ,come with some gigs around the country,and with some new projects with Libe,Octave,Dubsons, and also start a collective named Trin Kollectiv with Lumieux and Ricu. His work are supported by Nastia , Kurmyshev,Razaar, Jay Bliss,Terje Bakke,Curl Menghi and many many people.
