Artists & Title: Robert Hood – MOTOR: NightTime World 3 Label: Music Man Records Catalogue#: MMLP038 Date: Dec. 2012 Format: 3x 12″ LP, 180Gr. Vinyl Incl. CD Country: Belgium
Following recent Music Man cd’s from Petar Dundov and Marcel Dettmann, we now welcome one of Detroit’s finest, Robert Hood. After the legendary Nighttime World Volume 1 and Nighttime World Volume 2, we are proud to be able to present you the long awaited “Motor: Nighttime World 3” on Music Man!
With “Motor: Nighttime World 3” Robert Hood returns to the project he first started on Austria’s Cheap label back in 1995 and subsequently continued in 2000 on M-Plant. Fusing his trademark minimal techno into jazz inspired moods and inflections, Hood emerges from the smoke-lit shadows of a downbeat, but not beaten, Motor City metropolis. Inspired by Julien Temple’s documentary ‘Requiem For Detroit?’ Robert Hood examines the life, history and future of Detroit’s motor industry and its workforce, set against a backdrop of decay, despair, hope and re-birth. Credits: The HardWorkSoftDrink guys Cédric Dekowski and Felix Reifenberg got together with their old friend Marius Rademacher, aka Macher and created some serious sounds, which really speak for themselves.
These young rookies from Mainz offer a peak into their strong three track EP on 87. The experimental bass bomb “Sessionyo” speaks to all sound-o-files as well as the very different but clubby “Tesai”, which has proven it´s popularity and effectiveness on many a dancefloor.
The b-side is dedicated to the rolling epic that is “Sofaga”, with a combination of crisp, crunchy beats with beautiful, psychedelic harmonies.

Credits: Preceding the release of Bad Cop Bad Cop’s debut album ‘Wings Of Techno’, 4 tracks of the long player get the remix treatment by a unique quartet of techno artists: TOBIAS, GROUP NIOB, BRENDON MOELLER and Pomelo’s upcoming Star KEMETRIX
‘Wings Of Techno’ is a psychedelic tour-de force through various styles of electronic sounds. Deep and unique, jacking at times while laid back and cosmic at others.
All four remixers on duty here manage to keep the psychedelic and surreal feel of the originals intact while adding a great dose of dancefloor friendliness to the tracks.
– Ostgut’s TOBIAS. reworks ‘Hilton Hihat’ into a deep and dreamy acid techno tune.
– He is followed by Motor City talent KEMETRIX, who steps up the pace and edginess with a twisted, stomping electro-techno hybrid remake of ‘Beauty’.
– GROUP NIOB, the Viennese Duo formed by Cheap Records legend Gerhard Potuznik and Martin Dibek, contrast the goth-pop vocals of the original ‘Bodyless Material’ with deep dubbed- out techno beats.
– And lastly, the unmistakeable BRENDON MOELLER turns ‘Cheeky’ into an undulating, deep bass driven dub techno stomper
